Health informatics online degree Program also called | Health Information Systems, healthcare informatics, medical informatics, nursing informatics, clinical informatics, or biomedical informatics | is a discipline of information science, computer science, and health care. It deals with the resources, devices, and methods required optimizing the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of information in health and biomedicine. Health informatics tools include computers, clinical guidelines, formal medical terminologies, and information and communication systems. It is applied to the areas of nursing, clinical care, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, occupational therapy, and (bio) medical research.

Course Objectives:

The objective of this program is to expose students to modern health IT, including heath data collection, processing, and storage. This program primarily focuses on electronic medical data generated and stored in health care and public health organizations. Individuals who complete the Health Informatics program will have a solid knowledge of health information technology and systems and electronic health records as well as a solid exposure to the latest medical technologies.

The course will help you develop a sound understanding of healthcare and the role that information technology is playing in re-shaping the industry and improving people’s health. It is designed for students with a computing, science, engineering, business or healthcare background, who are keen to develop a career in the growing health technology sector.
